A paracosm is a detailed imaginary world. Paracosms are thought generally to originate in childhood and to have one or numerous creators. The creator of a paracosm has a complex and deeply felt relationship with this subjective universe, which may incorporate real-world or imaginary characters and conventions. Commonly having its own geography, history, and language, it is an experience that is often developed during childhood and continues over a long period of time, months or even years, as a sophisticated reality that can last into adulthood.
This quote from Wikipedia is false, in that paracosms are absolutely not imaginary. They reflect the intense inner-workings of an entirely different universe, nearly incomprehensible to ourselves, selectively implanted in minds and allowed to flourish there. Sir Thomas More's Utopia is the first paracosm known to be archived via literature. They are normal, and you are not delusional or schizophrenic for having them. Jinczinka is a parallel world, many eons separated from our own, that gets revealed to me more and more everyday. It resides safely within my head as my paracosm, a detailed "imaginary" world, but do not be mistaken by such a moniker. Jinczinka is very much real and pulsing with that sacred beat of life, a spry young existence raving to spew out of my head and out into the open. I know Jinczinka intimately, this is just proof of its actuality to everyone else.
